How Safe Is Exploratory Surgery And Re-biopsy For Nerve Sheath Tumour In Hand?

Doctor, I was diagnosed with a Nerve sheath tumour (apparently it's partly embedded inbetween nerves) and had an open biopsy done on 11/02/11. Unfortunately the histology result was inconclusive and I'll undergo further exploratory surgery and re-biopsy from different site on 01/04/11. I have questioned my surgeon but do not get direct answers about possible complications. I am thinking about losing the functioning of my arm but no-one wants to confirm or deny the possiblity thereof. I understand that outcomes may differ but I would like more information regarding what may happen after tumour is removed in case of malignancy. I just want to plan for the future because it is my dominant hand that is affected - please help
