Hello Harini. There are side effects of both the medications. But you need to understand that effects of having seizures can be devastating as well. Some of the side effects of epilex chromo include Nausea or Vomiting, Diarrhea, Shakiness in the legs, arms, hands, or feet. Blurred vision, Dizziness, weight gain, Body pain, Skin Rash, Sneezing, Dry or scaly skin are other side effects. Side effects of Levipil include Drowsiness, dizziness, unusual tiredness, or weakness may occur. Some serious side effects, such as: loss of coordination,mental/mood changes (such as irritability, aggression, agitation, anger, anxiety), signs of infection can also occur. Levetiracetam can commonly cause a rash. A very serious allergic reaction to this drug is rare. Do inform your prescribing doctor if there is a significant reaction immediately.
