How Safe Is Taking Metformin?

I'm suffering from PCOS and was just put on a regimen of Metformin & Birth Control. I've been on Birth Control for a year and just started the Metformin 8 days ago. My question is about a recurring fever like symptom that I am experiencing. I feel very warm to the touch and feverish from the neck up, with slight stiffness in my neck and shoulders. I had nausea about 3 days ago but never vomited, and have not had nausea since. Could the fever like symptom be a result of my hormones fluctuating from the Metformin?

Hello,

Metformin does not effect that much hormone level. and do not cause fever. You may be having viral which is corresponding to it. Have PCM to control it.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
