General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear
Understand your concern
Misoprostol is safe for abortion if you are using it under the direction and supervision of gynecologist.Ideally it should be taken after mifepristone. USG and pelvic examination should be done before the abortion to confirm intrauterine pregnancy. Bleeding will depend upon the age of pregnancy. It is just like more than period with blood clots. Whole process will finish in 3-4 days. So wait for bleeding. If no bleeding it may be due to ineffective dose or ectopic pregnancy or incomplete abortion. so consult the gynecologist and undergo pelvic examination and USG to confirm the status of gynecologist. Incomplete abortion is treated by D & C. And ectopic pregnancy should be treated by blood transfusion and surgery
Hope this may help you
Best regards
