How Serious Can Be Mitral Valve Prolapse?
My 21 one yrs old over weight daughter is being echo tested Fri. for Mitral Valve prolaspe. How serious can this be? She is not wanting me to get upset but Im already way over upset cause she is my baby child. Please help me some how to undertand this.

There are some problems associated with MVP, mainly arrhythmias and value leak (mitral regurgitation), over time.
But many of our patients with MVP, never faced any. So i would ask you not to panic, and advice follow up with her cardiologist.
