How Should Spina Bifida, Hydrocephalus With Other Congenital Problems Be Treated?

Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query heremy four years old daughter is unable to walk due to spina bifida. It was closed by neuro surgen within 48 hrs of her birth. she was also having hydrocepellus and shunt was being put to drain brain fluids.. now she is almost four years old but she is unable to walk and control her bledder and bowel function.
I request you to study the case of my daughter, guide me and show me torch of hope, as she is my only daughter.

Thanks for your query.

Your daughter has received both surgeries at the appropriate time. She seems to be having neurogenic bladder, bowel due to problem in nerve supply to the bladder and intestine. THese can be helped, not completely cured. She willneed detailed testingof bladder to measure pressures, if high will need medications, and if low, will need clean intermittent catheteristion ( placement of tube to remove urine at intervals). She might require calipers to help her to walk, after detailed evaluation of her spinal cord defect
