i had surgery to cut open a swelling caused by sc injection of heroin, the surgeon left the wound open it s about 5 inches wound in upper left thigh, i had antibiotics for the last ten days there is no visible rednes round the wound and i have it dressed daily with kalpostat, will it heal any soon? im 52 y old male 168cm, 68kilos

Hi Thank you for asking HCM I have gone through your query. Your surgeon most likely done incision and drainage and kept it for secondary intention wound healing. So you should have a proper wound toilet and dressing everyday. Avoid irritants if the wound is clean. Use saline for wound irrigation and cleaning. Granulation tissue will come and cover up the wound gradually. If you send a picture of the wound then it will be more helpful. Thanks.
