Hi, I have gone through your question. Iron tablets do lead to gastric upset and acidity. If she is not tolerating oral iron and has a Hb of 7.5 gm/dl ai 8 and half months of pregnancy, then she should be given injectable iron, either intramuscular or intravenous. She is suffering from moderate anemia which needs to be corrected before delivery. Antacids can be given in pregnancy, but are not recommended for long term usage in pregnancy.
