Hi, I am scheduled for a c section on November 14 because of my previous son being born through emergency c section because of meconium. For the past 4 days I have had pain in back and lower abdomen and fever of 100.7 ..Tylenol does not help with the pain..and I feel a lot of pressure whenever I stand and have to go pee rite away..my doctor told me a couple days ago if thing progress or if my water breaks to go to labor and delivery and they will just do my c section early..as of today my heart rate is beating at about 100 bpm and I feel extremely light headed and dizzy..my question is what should I do at this time because I do not want my baby to go in distress like my previous son and I don't want to go into labor? I'm 36 weeks pregnant as of today
Hi, I can understand your difficulty. As your baby is almost mature, delivery after a week should not pose a problem, even if it is necessary. As to the need for a repeat cesarean, it is the judgement of your attending obstetrician, at the need of the hour. If there is fetal distress or some other factor at the time of labor, you may need an operation. As far as vaginal delivery is concerned, you can opt for painless labor and discuss with your doctor regarding the procedure. Please take as mush rest as possible, preferably in the left lateral position and take adequate fluids. Wish you safe motherhood.
