How To Control BP In A Diabetic And COPD Suffering 67 Year Old Woman?
My 67 year old mother has a stint in her trachea. She has high blood pressure and diabetes. Her blood pressure has been over 200 for several months now. The medicines she has tried, makes her stomach very sick, she she can t take the meds offered by several different doctors. She has chronic COPD and has a hard time breathing. We can t find a doctor that can control her blood pressure and deal with her stint, that is close to our grand rapids Michigan home. She has pretty much given up on life. I won t give up. Can you help me?
It is very difficult situation where you need to control three parameters such a s 1. Blood pressure 2. COPD 3. Diabetes.
In fact our main concern is to control blood pressure because if we not control our blood pressure properly then there will be pulmonary hypertension causing pulmonary edema.
She is not suppose to take drugs belong to beta blockers due to copd. Her only option is to go for calcium channel blockers and ACE and ARBS.
But the prescription of the drugs depends upon the kidney status and diabetic control.
So the best option is to go for calcium channel blockers
Thanks
