How To Control Blood Sugar Level Through Diet Despite Taking Metformin?
What can be taken to get a 583 sugar reading down. Its the 1st time it ever went so high. Will drinking lots of water help? I have already taken a metformin and its now down to 281. I havent eaten too much today and was down 119 earlier in the day. Could saltine crackers or an infection have something to do with it??
Hi, i have gone through your query and understood your concerns.
Blood glucose level of 581 is very dangerous.you can have complications like Diabetic ketoacidosis , hyperosmolar coma etc. The higher glucose levels can be controlled by low calorie diet. Small frequent meals. No direct sugars at all. No fruits with high sugar such as mangoes, banana , grapes etc. Avoid sweets, cakes, honey jam, tuberous roots like potatoes etc. Regular exercises also helps to reduce sugar levels. Do proper monitoring of blood sugars. For a long term control you could do a HB1Ac test.
You should visit a doctor & start a new medicine, As you had very high blood glucose test
Refer to your physician for consultation. Hope this information helps
