How To Cure Excessive Daytime Sleepiness?

Excessive daytime sleepiness: 24 y/o female. I sleep 7.5 - 8 hours of sleep a day. I typically wake up 3-4 times a night, that I can remember but it could be more and I don't remember. I have excessive daytime sleepiness. I fall asleep on the toilet, showering, driving, talking on the phone, eating dinner at a restaurant, watching TV. It's affecting my job and my relationship with my fiance. I need advice on what to do!

Hello, and thanks for your question.

Your sleepiness during the day is very likely caused by interrupted sleep during the night. You should be evaluated for obstructive sleep apnea and other sleep disorders by undergoing a sleep study. To help you sleep at night, I recommend taking Benadryl or Atarax or Melatonin at night. These are all over the counter and safe to help you sleep.
