How To Cure Gag Reflex Problem?
My grandaughter is on zpack for infection. She can not swallow because she has a bad gag reflex problem. I used to work in a nursing home and know that some meds are crushed up for the patients to take. Could I crush it up for my granddaughter??? I am hopeing you can help however I live on diabilty and can not pay for assisrtance in this matter.

i can understand your concern.
children do find it difficult to take the antibiotics which taste bad, and azithromycin does taste bad. this could lead to the possible gag reflex in your grand daughter.
for the question you have asked whether that can be crushed or not: yes azithromycin can be crushed and given. just make sure that whole of the crushed tablet is given and nothing is missed.
it should be taken at least one hour before meals for maximum efficacy.
