Hi, I am a 22yr. old female athlete who suddenly developed reactive hypoglycemia. I started a new higher estrogen birth control pill 1.5months before the hypoglycemia began. I have had many tests performed and there is no explainable cause of my hypoglycemia. No family history, etc. How likely is it my birth control pill is causing this?
HI Well come to HCM Hormone pills actually causes hyperglycemia, because of the hormone pill developing hypoglycemia is very unlikely, possibility of diabetes need to be ruled out, alcohol could also cause the hypoglycemia, better to keep the record of blood sugar for some days and then consult the physician, have a regular diet, hope this information helps, take care.
