Dear Madam,
Welcome to HCM.
I appreciate your concern for your husband.
Doctors being online is kind of revolution brought about by advances in technology. Thanks to the internet, We are able to serve people better.
Now coming to your query.... Well i hope you are not an engineer... I mean we do not evaluate human systems by the percentage of performance.. Do not mistake me that was just in good humor....
For a Diabetic patient the schedule of tests is like this....
FBS, PPBS atleast twice in a month
HbA1c - Once in 3 months
Lipid profile - Once in 6 months
Blood urea, serum creatinine, microalbuminuria, Liver Function test, Hemogram, urine complete, foot nerve testing, ECG and retinal screening - Once in a year.
If you follow this schedule you can make sure that your husband's diabetes is under control and all his Systems are working fine...
You can also get a glucometer in order to blood glucose testing at home... there will be 10-15% variation in blood sugar values compared to lab values but that is fine for home based monitoring.
A regular followup with a Diabetologist is a MUST!
