How To Differentiate Stomach Virus And Appendicitis?
7 year old male sudden onset of vomiting, fever, diarrhea last night. No one else affected in the family. Unable to sleep last night and complains of tummy pain which leads to additional vomiting and diarrhea. Lots of mucus. How do I tell the difference between a tummy bug and appendicitis ?

Since the symptoms of gastroenteritis and appendicitis mimick. The most resourceful way to confirm would be consulting a general surgeon for examintion as the pain would be around the umbilicus and right side of abdomen. An ultrasonography scan of abdomen and pelvis shall confirm the diagnosis showing changes in the size of the appendix.
