How To Further Treat A Dog Bite Infection?

so, i have begining stages of infection of a recent dog bite, this past saturday, 5days ago. the hospital gave me a Clindamycin drip along with the morphine. the clindamycin was too expencive so i asked for another, however, i am alergic to all cillians. pnc, amxc... you name it. when my mother picked up the script she didnt think anything of it. they gave me amoxicillin 500 mg and bactrim 800.... i stopped taking the amxc when i realized what it was, 24 hours ago, and read that bactrim is for blatter and urinary problems.... i def dont want to go back to the hospital.... is there anything i can do? take at home? something? can i get a cortizone shot and call it done???

Hello, Thnx to contact us. If I am your treating doctor I would like to advice you that whether you have taken a vaccine shot, T T shot or not, because this things should be given priority. I advice not to go with cortisone, because it only gives you temporary protection. Regarding your antibiotic choice I advice to go with the clindamycin because it is broad spectrum antibiotic and also covers the anaerobic bacteria which in your case I afraid is the etiological agent. also do not forget the local wound care and hygiene.I advice you to apply local betadine ointment. If you have anything else to ask please contact me. Thanx. Dr. Arun Tank
