How To Get Rid Of Black Marks From The Drainage Under The Nose?

Hello, My 7 year old got his nose cauterized after severe nose bleeds. Anyway this was done today and he has black marks from the drainage under his nose. I can not seem to wash it off I also tried vaseline and soap nothing is working any suggestions?
