Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had shingles since mid-October. This affected the top right quadrent of my face including my eye. The shingles actually affected the area surrounding my eye but I have had and currently have a blister on the top eyelid below the eyelash/hair line. I have been prescribed Valtrax/Valacyclovir HCL (1 gram) and Predforte/Prednisolone Acetate Opthalmic Suspension USP. I am not currently taking these meds. While much of the symptoms have subsided (light sensitivity/pain), blisters do continue to develop as well as persistent itching. Are there alternative treatments (short term and long term) for this?
