Before it worsens.please do not self medicate in such a condition.your doctor may prescribe medicines to resolve the pain and swelling and a antibiotics to cure the tonsillitis.

Inflammation of tonsil causes its enlargement. swollen tonsil causes difficulty in swallowing (causes pain), if it further enlarges then it can also lead to difficulty in breathing. U should get examined from doctor. usually the line of management is anti-inflammatory drugs (to control pain and inflammation which in turn decreases swelling) and antibiotics (to cure infection). Take soft diet and allow time for ur medications to act. If there is a repeated attack of tonsillitis then doctor may consider the option of tonsillectomy. take care bye.....
