Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
For the past two weeks I ve been getting hives. I went to the ER last week. They can t tell me what caused the hives. So, I ve been eliminating a lot of foods from my diet eating mainly salads, fruits & vegetables. I ve been getting acid reflux/heartburn I m wondering why? It s very uncomfortable, how do I get rid of it? I ve been eating tums and the pesto.
I think you have to meet your family doctor and discuss with him or her about your complaints in details.
However, in order to find out the underlying cause for your acid reflux, your doctor might ask you to do blood test, stool test and breath test to rule out H.pylori infection and also you may need to do Upper GI / Endoscopy for further informative details that your doctor may need to find out the underlying cause for your reflux.
I strongly advice you again to discuss with your family doctor about your complaints since he or she knows your family history and previous history of diseases.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Dinesh Nuwan Weerasinghe
