How To Get The Menstrual Cycle After Taking A Depo Shot?
I started depo September of 2014, I got my last shot in December and was suppose to get another in march but I didn t get it because I want to have a baby soon. Its been 2 months and i still haven t had a period. What can I do to bring my period back???
Depo Provera injection contains medroxyprogesterone, a female natural sex hormone that is used in the prevention of unwanted pregnancies from unprotected sexual intercourses for at least 3 months. The hormone called medroxyprogesterone from the Depo Provera shot stays in someone's body system for at least 3 months after her last shot. So, it may take 15 weeks after someone's last Depo Provera shot for protection of pregnancy to wear off. Within 6 months of the last Depo Provera shot, usually someone's normal menstrual cycle may return.
For some women, it may take more than 6 months to a year for their ability to become pregnant to return to normal. Again, in few cases women may not start menstrual cycles from 9 to 24 months after stop taking Depo Provera shot. If you have still any doubt, then you can consult your doctor for further details.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
