How To Heal Itchy Red Pin Head Rash On Upper Arms Which Eventually Turned Lumpy And Scaly?
Hello. My wife has recently developed an itchy red pin head rash on her upper arms. This eventually becomes lumpy and scaly. She was given Dermol ointment by her GP but this has made the condition worse. She has also used calomine lotion but this had no effect. Her general health and diet is good. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you. David
hi Welcome to Healthcare Magic Forum Your wife seem to have developed a fungal infection, which can be either tinea infection or candidiasis. This infection presents with development of red itchy and scaly lesions. You should try to keep the groin region clean and dry . Do not apply any kind of oils or moisturizing creams over the groin region . Wear cotton clothes inorder to reduce sweating. You need to use an antifungal agent like Clotrimazole gel over the affected area twice a day. Also take oral antifungals like fluconazole like 150 mg once a week for upto 6 weeks. And to relieve the itching, take oral antihistamines .
Hope it helps,
