How To Identify And Confirm A Dog Bite?

Hi, my name is Delia D. Dalton, 40 years of age. My neighbor was complaining that my dog bitten his 4 years old son. However, I looked at the scar but doesn t look like a dog bite. My dog is 2 years old and a cross bread of Labrador, so I may say that he s big, but the bruise is like a 1mm in size at the bottom part of his left pinky finger, and the unusual thing was there s no bite mark on the other side of his hand. We already told the doctor to check first the wound, but instead he just asked the child and asked us to buy the vaccine. How should we know if it s really a dog bite? and if the claim is true?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Normally confirmation is based only on the patient history of what occurred or any witnesses to the incident.
There are no specific tests that are used to identify persons with dog bites.

If your dog is already vaccinated then it is highly that he could transmit the virus but the child would still need to be covered by his own vaccinations to make sure.

I hope this helps
