How To Interpret Blood Results For 4 Month Old With 2 Pyloromyotomies?

Hi Doctor. My 4 month old son has now had 2 pyloromyotomies, and is still vomiting. They just drew blood, and I'm not sure what some of the results mean. segmented Neutrophils 32, Monocyte 11, Eosinophil 13, reactive lymphocytes 1+, sed rate 27, white blood cell count 15, red blood cell count 3.73, hemoglobin 10.4, and hematocrit 30.1

He did have a cold when the drew blood adn I know that can effect some of the results. Are any of the results things that would not have been related to his cold?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
The interpretation of the blood report is as follows:
The hemoglobin levels are low.
A peripheral blood film examination is required to look for the type of anemia.
Two surgeries could had lead to blood loss and thus anemia, however, peripheral blood examination is mandatory.
Presence of reactive lymphocytes suggests viral infection.
This finding has to be clinically correlated.
The erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) is slightly elevated.
This could be due to infection.

A history of cold when the test was done could be a possible cause of these results.
The cold could be viral in nature and could lead to reactive lymphocytosis.

Thanks and take care
