Hi, I got typhoid recently before one month and I have taken treatment at that time I have my s.typhi antigen O 1:160, S typhi H 1:160 and paratyphi A and B 1 in 20 and i have made malaria and dengue test also they are negative....after taking treatment I didn t had any fever or typhoid symptoms...but today I had my blood test again after a month still the results are same as above...I m confused...plz can any one tell me that does my typhoid fever is reduced or not....
The widal test shows the antibody titre for salmonella typhi A and B are raised. A antibody titre of 1:80 and above are suggestive of typhoid infection. An antibody titres of 1:20 for salmonella paratyphi rules out paratyphoid infection. Thus, treatment for typhoid is required. You have mentioned that you have already taken treatment for typhoid infection and still the titres are elevated. The antibody titres are slow to reduce as compared to clinical symptoms. In the absence of clinical symptoms the infection can be considered to be treated. However, if you develop any of the clinical symptoms of fever, abdominal pain etc, you need to consult your treating doctor.
