How To Interpret Liver Function Test?

hi i have just had the results of a liver function test and i am not sure what they mean, other than they are not normal and I'm worried.
My serium a/c = 53 and alt= 74, billerubin = 8
Please could you explain them to me? Incidently, i have stopped drinking for 6 days now and intend to keep this up. How long should it take to get them back to a normal level.
Many thanks

Hello and welcome to HCM,
You have posted only partial liver function test report.
The interpretation is as follows:
The level of bilirubin is raised. The normal level is below 2 mg/dl. The level is very as compared to the normal 2 mg/dl.
Raised bilirubin level suggests jaundice.
The cause for jaundice has to be found out.
The level of SGOT i.e. AST is slightly increased at 74 IU/L.
The normal level is below 40 IU/L.
However, nodefinitive opinion can be given based on just two values.
In alcoholic liver disease, the level of SGOT is greatly increased.

Kindly, post other test report for more information.

Thanks and take care
