How To Lose Weight?

Hi, how are you? I have been trying to lose weight since the beginning of summer (late May-ish). I recently started college and gained a lot of body fat there, and I have been trying to lose it. Recently, I perform dance workouts for about 20-30 minutes a day as well as arm strength-training. I have reduced white rice and bread from my diet, as well as dairy and sugar. I eat three meals a day (a healthy breakfast of avocado toast or Honey Bunches of Oats, a very small lunch with a blended smoothie, and a regular dinner with reduced carbs). I also drink lemon water and apple cider vinegar every morning to boost my metabolism. I drink plenty of water all day, as well as green tea, and detox water (lemon, cucumber, pineapple-infused). Yet, my weight has pretty much remained the same after an initial reduction back to my weight before I left for college. I m not too worried about my weight, but my body fat has not gone down even a bit. What am I doing wrong? Is there anything I can do to improve this?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and welcome to HCM.
I understand your concern.
I would like to know how much is your height and weight so that it will easy for me to comment how much you need to loose. What matters most is not your weight but it's your body mass index and waist circumference.
Well you have really tried hard and tried everything.
But let the process of healthy weight loss be gradual without you expecting drastic and quick results.A healthy weight loss is something around 0.5 kg loss per week.
If I were your treating doctor,I would recommend,
-See to it that calorie demand per day normal for your age and sex should be met everyday. It should not be less than that.
-Have a balanced but high protein diet.Include cereals, pulses, legumes, fruits, vegetables, dairy products.Dont put any restriction regarding what to eat and what not to.Have small frequent meals at right time.
-Avoid excess sweet or salty items, refined, processed, junk food.
-Regular exercising at gym is fine. Can supplement it with yoga and meditation for destressing yourself. Also in your daily activities, you must choose options that make you burn calories like chiising stairs instead of lift, going to shopping for walking.
-Minimum 8 hours sleep is necessary.
-still if the conditions remains same,or if there is any problem with your menses, certain blood tests like thyroid tests, blood glucose test ,blood adrenaline will be necessary.
Hope this information helps.
Thank you.
