How To Manage BP Spike, With Medications Suspended Due To Urinary Blockage?

I was released from the hospital on Thursday after experiencing a urinary blockage cased by an enlarged prostate. I was told to suspend my blood pressure medications (Metoprolol, Lisinopril, Digoxin and Spironolactone) until follow up with my primary care doctor. I am A-fib and was recently treated for congestive heart failure. Within 24 hours, my blood pressure and heart rate have risen to unsafe levels. I will not be able to see my doctor anytime soon. Should I begin taking those meds again?

Hi and welcome to ehealthdesk
I'm Dr. Taimur and I will be addressing your health concerns.
I have read your question and understand your concern.
The drugs you are using are contraindicated in renal failure, so you should better avoid it until started by your doctor. For BP control you can use Amodipine (calcium channel blocker) 10 mg 1 tablet daily, trade name is sofvasc, or norvasc.
I hope this might be of some help, if you have any query feel free to ask me any time.
Thanks.
Dr. Taimur
