How To Manage An Extremely Heightened Sense Of Smell?

I have an extreme heightened sense of smell. I take prescribed Opana 20mg ER BID and 10mg IR Q4. Sometimes I run low towards end of script as my back pain can really get intense. I am awaiting Spinal Fusion@L4-L5 as I have very minimal to no disc left as doctors have told me. When I reduce my Opana, i smell nothing but strong chemical/old/musty/black mold which also affects my taste. What I smell, I also taste and it is very disgusting to the point I try to use Vicks up my nostrils and also wish not to eat. What are your thoughts?
