Psychiatrist 's  Response
welcome to HCM!

I have very good response with naproxen sodium and domperidone combination in severe cases of migraine, when taken in 5-10 min of the attack. Usually one tablet of 500 mg suffice. In very severe cases, when there is vomiting or nausea, and it is difficult to accept oral medicine, then an injection of Voveran 75 mg I/m, alongwith with an antiemetic helps a lot!

Do not worry, it is well manageable, and also in acts when vasogarine doesnot help..

For long sanding migraine cases, I have seen patients responding nicely to dosulepin 25-150 mg, or Venalafaxine( given daily) ...I prefer starting low and increase slowly after seeing the response. The treatment goes for 3-9 months and then tapered and stopped.

Hope the reply is useful
wish you good health!
