How To Overcome The Addiction Of Diazepam Sleeping Pill?
Hi Dr Grief, I am 59. I take sleeping pills, 4mg diazepam a night as I suffered from insomnia during menopause and it has become an addiction I guess. I only sleep 3 to 4 hours a night. I feel sensitive..a little depressed, have a lot of neck pain and super tired.
Thanks for posting your query to HCM. Diazepam if stopped abruptly leads to withdrawal symptoms which include sleep disturbance, irritability, anxiety, panic attacks, nausea, headache to name some. So, it is advised to stop it with gradual dose reduction. I would suggest you to visit a physician for proper dose reduction protocol after proper examination of your history. Hope my answer will help you.
