How To Overcome The Breathing Problems Caused By Cough During Night?
both my husband and mother have a really bad cough however more persistant at night my mother is 74 years old and she concerns me a little more because of age but both have flu symptoms.. What can they take so that they can sleep better at night? I also read that it is not good to take Tynol or IBprofen for fever is this true?
The symptoms as mentioned in your post suggest that your husband & mother are having Tracheo-bronchial allergy.
Management includes: 1. Antihistamine preparations like Allegra & Cough expectorant syrup for symptomatic relief. 2. Montelukast preparation at night as a maintenance therapy. 3. A course of antibiotics may be taken to prevent secondary bacterial attack. 4. Maintain adequate hydration & a healthy balance diet. 5. Warm salt water gargle & steam inhalation. 6. Also make sure that they are well protected from cold, dust & other allergens.
Tynol or Ibuprofen can provide symptomatic relief from fever. But the underlying cause needs to be treated.
Wishing them a good health. Take care.
