Hello,I am a male, 43 yr old - 172lb - 5'9" - total cholesterol 133, triglyceride 79, HDL 69, LDL 47. No diabetes, never smoke and never drink in my life. However, my EKG is abnormal. In 2009, I was diagnosed with high blood pressure and was prescribed metroprolol 25mg. Since that time, I went onto carb diet and do 30 min cardio exercise everyday without failing. I also swim regularly. My bp has since went down to avg of 115/60/60. My pulse rate used to be around 85 and it goes down to around 60 now as I am getting fit. However, this abnormal EKG worries me. I had echo and stress test done recently - and it was found to be normal. I was able to do level 15 on the stress machine and was told that I was one of the fittest that ever came through the door. The ejection fraction was 70. Recently, I was also given a holter monitor for 24 hr and the result also is negative - no significant arrhythmia found. My doctor and the stress test physician told me not to worry at all.I am an anxious person (good and bad) and little things worry me. Is that true that there is nothing to worry? My dad died of heart attack when he was 67 and my mother also has continuing heart issues. My sisters have palpitations too. I feel that I am in great shape now after loosing weight and the regular exercise, but I am still worried as I am not sure what to make of the abnormal EKG.I got panic easily when I "listen" to my body and felt that I had muscle pain (due to exercise), indigestion, etc. A doctor recommended prozac to alleviate my anxiety but I don't want to take it.
