Thanks for putting your query at HealthCareMagic.
Myocardial infarction is popularly known as
heart attack which occurs when a blood vessel in the wall of the heart becomes blocked either by becoming narrow due to fat deposition or due to some blood clot obscuring its lumen. On the other hand stroke is a condition wherein a similar condition affects the brain and not the heart. It can also occur due to bleeding due to rupture of a blood vessel in the brain. So, there is no condition called 'heart stroke'. I am sure that you would be able to distinguish between the two.
Anybody of your present age of 58 years of age, needs to have a proper lifestyle in order to prevent cardio-vascular diseases like heart attack and stroke. People having a positive family history of
heart disease or previous history of stroke have an increased risk. Since you have had a stroke in the past, it's important to reduce your risk of a second stroke. Your brain helps you recover from a stroke by asking the unaffected brain regions to do double duty. That means a second stroke can be twice as bad. Now, both of these are lifestyle related diseases. Stress or anxiety is an important predisposing factor for both and hence the anxiety that how long can you actually live, is actually going to be hazardous for you.
Some of the most important treatable risk factors for stroke are:
*
High blood pressure, or hypertension: by far the most potent risk factor for stroke.
*
Cigarette smoking.
* Heart disease including congestive
heart failure.
* Diabetes.
*
Cholesterol imbalance.
* Physical inactivity and obesity.
It would be a long chapter if I try to give you details of each of the above topics but it would not be hard to find out from your doctor. Regular medication, periodic assessment of your health related parameters, regular exercise, a healthy lifestyle and a positive attitude will help you overcome your nightmare easily. Stay relaxed.
I hope that I have successfully answered your query (though in brief). Feel free to contact me back in case you have any more queries.
