How To Recognize An Implantation Bleeding?

Hi Dr. I m very concerned that I may be pregnant or experiencing implantation bleeding. I have been taking birth control regularly for about a month and a half now and have only missed it once or twice in the beginning but always made it up immediately the next morning. I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend a few days after my last period ended around the 29th and haven t gotten it yet but since I have had random brown discharge and spotting. I missed taking it on the night that we had unprotected sex but made it up immediately the next morning and haven t missed one since. I took a pregnancy test about 2 days ago and it came up negative but I m still very worried.

It is possible that the spotting you are experiencing is because of the irregular intake of contraceptive pills as it may lead to hormonal imbalance. You have mentioned that your urine pregnancy test came back negative so it is unlikely that you are pregnant. I would advise you to repeat it once more after a week just to be sure.
