Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, I need some help! My husband has been addicted to opiates for a while now due to his back pain (mri confirms L4 and L5 disks have slipped). It has gotten to the point that I cannot take it anymore! He is ready to get help but we cannot afford it as I have Multiple Sclerosis and am only able to work part time. Do you know of any safe a effective ways to kick opiate usage besides cold turkey?
Sorry to read about your case.Since your husband is addicted to opium from a long time,he will need both medical and supportive therapy. For a start, you can start with medicines which are comparitively cheap and gradually start with other measures like medical counseling and psychotherapy.
