Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I got my tragus pierced more than a month ago now and its healing very well other than abit of pain on the surrounds when you touch it, it looks perfectly normal no swelling redness etc but its just a little painfull only when i touch it i also clean it daily any tips on how to get rid of the pain and is it normal and what may be causing it?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain a pierced tragus can take a longer time to heal as there is inflammation caused due to piercing the soft tissues tend to heal slowly.. If there is no other symptoms like swelling, redness or formation of a bump you need not to worry and just keep the area clean but do not apply excessive pressure or don't do harsh rubbing over the pierced site to avoid further trauma.. You can apply a Steroid based ointment like Hydrocortisone ointment as it can help in healing fast.. Do cold compresses.. Apply turmeric mixed with musturd oil over the site as it has antiseptic properties..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards.. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora..
