The pain is sharp and my back hurts too, bus open making no differance and I now just feel washed out. My GP asked for urine test and says I have blood in my urine and also litmus paper she used changed colour.tests gone off to hospital and I have to await results, but am in so much pain. Really sharp at times but continuose, sitting here with a hot water bottle on my tummy and behind my back. Help!! Denise
Diverticulitis patients are prone to develop fistulas. Blood in the urine may be due to urinary tract infection or renal stone or rectovesical fistula etc.
Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Please get it done ultrasound abdomen, colonoscopy, urine examination. You may use Tramadol and paracetamol twice a day for five days.
If symptoms not improved please consult your gastroenterologist he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
