How To Reduce Weight While On Prednisone?

HI, I been taking prednisone for almost a year and I ve gained 12 lbs. (I don t like it much). I wonder...is there a pill I can take to lose the weight I been gaining? I m 5 2, I used weight 117 lbs. and now I m 129. I didn t have no cellulite but now my legs, my arms, and even my calf s have it. This is crazy and I can t take any more!....any ways my doctor reduced the dozes. I used take 2 tables 5 MG each every day, now I started to take 1/2 of one pill every other day. Please help!!!

Hi,

Yes, The general outcome with pred is weight gain and increase appetite also. These are things with no side effects and can be used. Diet [self monitoring of caloric intake. See if your BMI is more than 25 [drugs or other ways if more than 27], consume most meals at home only. Conventional diet, like if you have diabetes [joslin why wait diet, structure weight loss programme like jenny craig or nutri-system are an option in the diet.

Physical activity and behaviour and as the body's immune system is harming you [pred is used to reverse it].

Join art of living online course. It will cover both and have seen practically changes after attending this course [its definitely helps you]. If you can follow drinking 10ml/kg, drinking water cold will result in weight loss and 500ml pre-meal drinking water in 12 weeks gives result also. Strictly avoid alcohol, caffeine, smoking, non-veg, starvation. Fruits, salads, vegetables and vitamins should be taken regularly. If you have BMI more than 28 then medication and surgery are the options.
