How To Relieve Chest/shoulder Pain In Case Of Aortic Valve Replacement?
my husband had surgery in march of 2008 to replace his aortic valve with a mechanical valve. he has been complaining of right sided upper chest pain/shoulder pain since then. lately it has been much worse. what could be done to relieve this pain? could it been nerve pain?
hello, I have gone through your query. Thanks for using HCM. The cause of pain in right shoulder may be because of frozen shoulder and may need consultation of orthopaedic surgeon followed by physiotherapy. It may be simple sprain which may be relived by Analgesic like Aceclofenac 100 mg twice a day for 3 to 5 days.So first Try analgesic and if no improvement you should consult orthopaedic surgeon. My best wishes Dr.Rajesh Teli,MD.
Mostly it is because of stiff muscles etc.The best treatment is physiotherapy exercises. If it still doesn't help then he would need MRI shoulder to see if he has injured any ligament etc.
