How To Remove Blisters Around Stitched Area After Basal Cell Carcinoma Was Removed?
blisters just showed up around stitched area where basal cell carcinoma was removed from outer edge of ear. About 1/5th of the ear was removed in the middle of the outer edge and then stitched together yesterday. Now there was bleeding and small blisters around the stitched together area.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted your history related to removal of the basal cell carcinoma from the outer edge of the ear. The appearance of blisters and small bleeding is not uncommon as this is the area where there is cartilage underlying the skin and this is normal in some cases to occur. You have to just apply liquid povidone iodine and apply pressure-dressing. And yes, for sure you should consult the surgeon who has operated you for further instructions, get proper medication, antibiotic cover so that there are no complications that develop.
