How To Stop Pus Coming Out From Wound After Gallbladder Removal?
I had my gall bladder removed on Sunday, keyhole surgery. Came home next day, I know have pus in one of my wounds, What shall I do, The hospital took of the dressings before I was discharged and sprayed something on the wounds to stop infection but it hasn t worked on one of the wounds
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain pus discharge from a wound at the site of surgery is an indication of infection and it needs medical attention as the infection can further spread..
I would suggest you to consult your treating Surgeon and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation can help in diagnosis..
You can be advised to take antibiotics like Augmentin or a combination of Trimethoprim or Sulphamethoxazole.. Anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen can also be advised.. If the infection is severe and spreading injectable antibiotics can be given.. You can also be advised to clean the area with antiseptic solution and apply a combination of TRIPLE ANTIBIOTIC Ointment and steroid ointment over it..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
