How To Treat Bronchiectasis?

Hi! i just went for a check up yesterday. Actually he is the 2nd doctor i consulted with. last week, when i coughed there was blood in my phlegm. I was alarmed so i went for consultation. the doctor suspects it is Broncheictasis, after giving her history of my lung problem..had pneumonias many times as well as bronchitis. I m asthmatic from birth, my father, daughter, granddaughter are all asthmatic . The doctor asked me to do sputum test and x-ray. i got the result yesterday . this time, i consulted my case to a pulmonologist and the same condition he told me...bronchiectasis. The x-ray interpretation was: Bilateral apical pleural thickening, reticulohazy opacities noted in both lungs, aorta tortuous and calcified. diaphrgm and sulci intact. The impression was: BILATERAL APICAL PLEURAL THICKNING. Consider BIBASAL PNEUMONITIS. ATHEROMATOUS AORTA. The result of mysputum AFB was Negative. My question now is..since broncheictasis has no cure, can acupuncture or acuppresure theraphies help me manage my condition? thank you for whatever advise you can offer...

Hello,

As bronchiectasis has no permanent cure you can definitely go for Acupuncture therapy but better than that will be yoga and some breathing exercises which will help improve your lung capacity slowly and relieve your breathing problem to a greater extent.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
