We have a 4 yr old adopted son whose birthmother took drugs and our son tested positive for cocaine at birth. We have problems with tantrums impulse control hitting etc we had him evaluated 3 times but all different opinions most say sensory integration and peditrician thinks with adhd started him last month on methylphenidate 10 mg and saw some change but still won t participate with his teachers or clean up toys and pushing today they upped the medication to 20 mg and it s been horrible w hitting screaming throwing crying they are going to change him back to lower dose but we don t think he has adhd but just very anxious ANC needs the OT and speech therapy how do we know what to do for him when all the doctors have different opinions on his treatment?
