How To Treat A Frozen Face 18 Mnths After Trigeminal Neuralgia Operation And Being On Gabapentin 700mg Daily?
i have had two operations for trigeminal neuralgia and now the severe head pain has gone but I now have a frozen face from the top of my head to my chin. I take 700mg of Gabapentin a day but its been 18 months since my last operation and I still have the problem..My surgeon says there is nothing else he can do. He did advise me it would take 4/6 months...Is there anything else I can do?? I can hardly walk without feeling disey all the time.. Ian Macdonald
Hi. This is very true that the results ans sequel can not be anticipated for this type of neuralgia and its treatment. I would suggest you to reduce gradually your dose of gabapentin to almost nil. Try acupressure or acupuncture , gives great results sometimes.
