Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had a stye on my lower lid for over a week. I have been using warm washclothes for compresses several times a day. I look outside and inside my eyelid and there is no head to it. It keeps getting bigger and more painful. Should I go see my family doctor or who else?
Hello dear Understand your concern. You should consult the ophthalmologist as it since last one week.
Stye is infection of sebaceous gland of zies. It cause lump/swelling at top or bottom of eyelid redness, itching, irritation and burning sensation.
Advice for you: It resolves its own but require following precaution Frequent hand washing Do not share your eve device and napkins with other Apply warm pad or clothing/warm compression Antibiotic ointment: Erythromycin/Moxifloxacin/Amoxicillin If not resolves in next 2-4 days, you should consult opthalmologist For Incision and drainage If reoccur :surgery is the last option
Hope this may help you Best regards Dr. Sagar
