How To Treat A Small Painless Lump Inside The Tongue?
Hello, About a month ago I felt a very small lump inside my tongue, Near the tip and to the right.. U cannot see it from the ventral or dorsal side of the tongue, you only feel it when gently squeezing the tongue between two fingers.. I am very nervous about this.. No pain or sensitivity at all and no change in size at all. Please lend me your advice. Dani
Hello, Continue to monitor and rinse with warm salt water. Any abrupt changes especially increasing size, pain or ulcerated type sore is of greater concern. A visual exam at your dentist is your best option. The need, if any, for Additional diagnostic tests would be determined. Do you know of any recent trauma or habit where you cause an irritation from ebbing your tongue? Something like this is taking time to heal and should get smaller. Excess fibrous tissue may remain and could be similar to a wart. It could be removed especially if bothersome. There are other minor inflammatory type occurance a that can be seen on the tongue as well . Tumors which are at higher risk of being cancerous are more common on the back side of the tongue. Consider having a routine dental visit. Oral cancer screening is part of your exam and you should maintain good oral health while putting your mind at ease. Thank you for your inquiry.
