Hi, I have had a brain tumor/malformation on the right side of my temporal lobe since I was a child. I have been on several seizure meds and am now on Topamax and Tegretol XR. My dose is Topamax 400 mg and Tegretol XR 1000 Mg. I have seizures around my menstral cycle that are temporal lobe seizures. I have seen two neurosurgeons recently. One who told me he would not consider Gamma Knife that epilepsy surgery is the best option and another who said since I have a tumor/malformation it is possible to do Gamma Knife. My neurologist said no Gamma Knife too. Why are so many people afraid of this procedure?
Nobody is afraid of gamma knife but it will not get rid of seizures but can only prevent bleeding in avm but surgery eill prevent both so it id better option in this case
