How To Treat Burning Sensation And Pain In Right Chest Area Due To Shingles?
I had shingles under the R arm 2 months after open heart surgery R thoracotomy most likely due to low immunity post op. The lesions are gone but I have been experiencing more shooting & burning pain in that area, under & in the R breast & center of chest on & off since? Shortness of breath occurs occasionally with exertion & had ectopy during cardiac rehab. Taking Metoprolol 37.5mg qam... other than that feel okay. Am I right in thinking it s probably shingle neuro pain or could it be something else?
Your pain is due to post-herpetic neuralgia. It occurs after an episode of shingle. Usually, it is more in elderly persons (sorry, you did not mention your age). Methylcobalamin, pregabalin and sometimes even acyclovir or Famciclovir may also help.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
